Dual Spec – The impact on raiding

Recently, Nethaera and Ghostcrawler did a Q&A session about the upcoming Dual Spec feature.  It’s caused much discussion on various boards, and one of the major aspects that people seem worried about is how it will affect the face of raiding.

Why I don’t think it will impact raiding

My opninon is that, properly presented, it won’t have much of an impact for top end guilds, and shouldn’t have much of an impact for more general guilds.

How to find a Raiding Guild – A guide for the unintiated

On the PlusHeal forums, Melsana asked the community:

I’ve been playing since last July. About a month ago I dinged 80. I didn’t reach 70 before Wrath came out, so this is my first time at the level cap.

I’m currently in a friends and family guild, and my husband and I are the only 80’s although my sister is 77.

My husband and I plan to get into raiding eventually. And will obvously be needing to get into a different guild. Right now we are doing level 80 dungeons, and getting our rep up for better gear and enchants. We have done one heroic so far, so we still have some work to do before we are ready to start raiding.

The advice I’m asking for is, should we start looking for a guild to join now, or should we wait until we really are ready to start raiding before we go looking for a guild? Also any other advice about finding a good guild would be useful. So far I’ve just done some google searches for guilds on my server, but finding guilds that ways seems difficult. But it seems like the only way to find out of a guild has the potential of being the type of guild we would like to join.

I thought I’d use this (and my response) as the start of a new blog for me. I’ll get to the introductions eventually…
